We purchased a new home and we are having the carpet installed ourselves. We have this one room that is huge with cathedral ceilings and 3 seperate 8 feet windows. As for the carpet, I found a 41 ounces dark beige berber with dark brown, grey and light green specs in it. It has squares designed in it. The railings and hardwood in the house are brown, green grey. Do you think the carpet will look to busy. I also want to put the same carpet runner.

This is a multi-level home and I wanted that one room to look very nice. That is why I chose a carpet with a design in it.

No Berber
I had a wool berber in my last house. It was a royal pain in the tuchus (thank odin for yiddish). Did not vacuum well, did not clean well, stained easily. The one thing it was good at (fair is fair) pointy furniture legs/feet did not leave deep pock marks. Try cork for a comfortable an inexpensive floor surface.
