Sure
It looks to be one of the many many plycraft variations. For 75 go for it. You can keep it as is, or spend a couple hundred on leather (less on vinyl) and recover the whole thing. It'll take you a few days, max. Spanky and I had a great at-length discussion about how to recover these - she's done 4-5 to count.
Around Boston area there's a toolbag dealer who buys these up for 100$-$200 then drags them up to his showroom and tries to retail them for $6-1200. 75 is a deal, but you'll probably see another deal again in your liftime.

Are you referring to a previous Design Addict thread?
"Spanky and I had a great at-length discussion about how to recover these - she's done 4-5 to count."
If so, do you recall the title of the thread? Just tried searching for it, no luck.

I don't beleive it's a plycraft...
I bet if you take the base off the otttoman you will find a tag saying "made in taiwan".
Yes many of these knocks offs could only hope they where plycraft... yes, even the knock offs where knocked off!

buy it!
It's Plycraft. I had the exact same chair. The tags are sometimes not fixed very well to the bottom of the chair---like one end is hanging loose---and I suspect that people remove them for aesthetic reasons.
It's a good buy at $75. They are not hard to reupholster and you can get a nice cowhide on ebay from Kysonleather for under $150. I have done four so far and have a fifth waiting to be done. (It's covered in plum-colored suede-like fabric, which I'm sure was a replacement for the original cheap tan leather.)
I converted the curved armrests on my chair that is the same as yours to the welted style found on the real thing. It improved the looks of the chair a lot, I think.
Below is the link to the big long thread here about restoring these.
Oh, by the way---there are people who prefer the Plycrafts over the Eames chairs for comfort reasons. I used to want to upgrade to an Eames chair someday but I think the Plycraft is very comfortable so I will probably just stick with that!

Kyson Leather
Link below.
Do request swatches first. What I do is pick out one or two that look like what i want and then I also ask if they have anything that they think fits the bill---50 sq ft, pebbled or smooth, no two-tone, very dark brown (for example). Usually they will send 5-6 swatches and so far I've always gotten one that I love.
Leather is hard to photograph and written descriptions are always somewhat subjective, so it's worth the extra week or two that it takes to get swatches. They are usually pretty far off in color and texture from the photos---sometimes in a good way, sometimes in a bad way.

We have recovered 100s ...
We have recovered 100s it is either plycraft or selig
and you to can recover it yourself.
just refoam it and pull the fabric real tight and start stabling.
Be sure and put the buttons on , if you want a trim cord, most do, take it to a shop and for 50 bucks they will run you trim cord. and buttons but if you are to cheap to do that just leave it old and crappy and put it your apt, and that is what you will have a old broken down chair, .
The chairs go for 75 to 500. depending on condition
but they are worth the price of redoing once they are all fixed up you will have a great piece of furniture for the next 40 years.
