I found this amazing Brown Saltman table and 6 chairs a few years ago. They were in pretty bad shape and we were only able to restore 4 of the chairs. The chairs are BS by John Keal, but they are not a match for the table. I have never been able to identify an exact match for the table. I has an old BS label, and "Walter of Wabash" but no other designer,it looks like Martin Borenstein with white laminate, but is different from those I have seen.

A couple of years later I found ANOTHER table that is exactly the same as the first one. When I first saw it listed I thought someone had stolen mine because I thought it was the only one in existence! But no, it was the same table for sale about 1 mile from where I found the first one. I love these tables, they are gorgeous, I'm hoping someone out there has some idea who designed them.

The only Brown Saltman designer I have also encountered in the past that used white accents (like laminates) with wood is Martin Borenstein, but I cannot confirm if your table is one of his designs.

Brown Saltman have many other designs that could be considered (?) in house design that do not fit the usual suspects like John Keal, Paul Frankl, Paul Laszlo, Van Keppel Green & many others that I cannot remember at the moment, each have a distinct style.

I am curious about the Walter of Wabash mark though, Walter of Wabash (TN?) is kind of in a different league as Brown Saltman (CA) but maybe BS just used another company's wood extension dining table part?

I thought Walter of Wabash made the hardware on tables.

Is there any point to copy this thread to the identification forum? I think I'm going to.

We are considering selling our second table but it's so beautiful I hate parting with it. But we have 2.....
