Hello,

Is there someone who knows where you can buy a reproduction boomerang desk at an affordable price? You see them on ebay ore other auction houses for 10000 to 15000 while the original sells for up to 35000. When it is possible for an auction house to sell one for 10000 there must be a way to find them cheaper. Any idee plaese let me know

i think that you will find that most of the boomerang desks that have sold over the last 10 years have been knock offs - mostly masquerading as the genuine article with the same price tag. i see them for sale every now and again

Stop being fooled by fake Calka boomerang desk, If you are looking for a vintage one check this link, the seller offers refund garantee if you have any doubt about the authenticity. True thing is that clients do not want to pay 5000 euros on eBay, that's the point. This same desk by WRIGHT's Chicago would certainly reach at least 30 000 dollars.

The copy Calka desks have been doing the rounds (to my knowledge) for at least 10 years so I guess some are getting quite old now. These "tributes to Calka" (ahem!) were (are?) the particular wheeze of a French dealer in London who had a "connection" to some kind of plastic moulding business...99% of Calka desks circulating will be from this source.

In this forum, you talk about fake boomerang desks. I'm the artist's son, I've checked as many desk as possible, but none of it was fake. I'm reffering to an original one I'm sure about.
