bgillettephoto and woodywood,
You two appear to have a more than average knowledge of Eames design for Herman Miller. I value your opinion.
I have located another Herman Miller Eames® round table. This unit is a 36" light grey laminate top with dark grey banding on a black contract base in excellent condition. The price is $25.96. To me this piece has a more "institutional" appearance when compared with the same table with a bright aluminum universal base and a white laminate top.
Do you guys think this would be appropriate for a persons home (not mine). It would be a gift.
bgillettephoto,
Did you ever get your Herman Miller for Healthcare storage unit?

I agree, the table that you describe would have more an "institutional" look to it. I think it depends on the person that you would be giving it to. If they are an indiscriminate Eames lover, they may appreciate it and find a suitable use for it.

.
I found a few like this a couple of years ago, if the person you are giving it to is enthusiastic and handy its an easy but tedious job to cut the stem down, shorten or replace the rod, strip the coating off the base, polish it..even replace the top though I never bothered with that.
I hope Niceguy won't mind the uninvited comment.

Dearest niceguy,
I've seen that particular color combo before, and think that it would be divine as a home table (kitchen/dining??), especially with 4 DCW's surrounding it. And if it doesn't excite the recipient, you're only out about the cost of a cheap bottle of wine...and it could be donated.
Just a thought..although I wasn't asked to comment.

Thank you
Heath, Woodywood and Mark,
Thank you.
Heath - My sister is neither handy or resourceful. I appreciate the idea of stripping and polishing the base, but I am not inclined enhance a gift. If I were to keep this unit your suggestion is a must.
Woodywood - You and I agree that it has an institutional look. My sisters Herman Miller collection consist of the Eames lounge and ottoman (brown leather is better than nothing for free) and the Elliptical table (black and mint) I have previously gifted her.
Mark - I thought the same thing. A POS table is against the wall in the large entry way and this table with two of the chairs you mentioned would be an improvement. I previously gifted her the Fontana Arte Amax (42") suspension lamp to replace the brass "lighting package" chandelier in this same space.
Thank you guys for all your input. I will acquire and give this table to my sister and the universal base with white top I mentioned in "the last thing your acquire " thread I will gift to my parents.
I remain grateful.

Success
Heath, Woodywood and Mark,
I got the Herman Miller round table with the contract base yesterday and delivered to my sister. She was very happy. Thank you again.

Your sister (nicegal)?
is quite lucky to have such a thoughtful sibling. Especially one with such refined taste.
Best,
Aunt Mark
