We rarely ever talk about bathrooms on this forum, so here's a question to get us started. I'm wanting to renovate my bathroom and was hoping to include some white glass louvers which can be opened up to allow a view of the fringing rainforest where I live (Our house adjoins a National Park). So I'm kinda looking for an organic aesthetic. I already have some gorgeous white reconstituted stone tiles from Italy for the floor. I was going to use a light green glass splashback for the shower to reflect the forest. So far so good. My question is - vanity basin - round or square? Inset, or on top?

Turkish
"...fringing rainforest where I live (Our house adjoins a National Park). "
Im so envious! Thats a portion of my dream. Owning a substantial amount of land boardering a larger park. Designing my modern, with splashes of tradtional, green home. A large barn nearby with an adjacent tower serving as a workhouse/guest house. A dream I work towards.
On to your bathroom...
Could you post a photo?
*forgot to add... I have a thing for Turkish/Morrocan bathhouse style...but not overly lavish. Large swaths of solids in whites or toned down yellows. Throw in some ornate designs contrast with colbalt blues and earthy colors like greens, browns etc. You'll never want to leave the tub!

Oooo...bathrooms! My Fav
Bedrooms and bathrooms are so important to me for over all health and happiness. I can deal with a less appealing main living space but if my private spaces are ugly I'm restless. Hotels make me miserable most of the time cuz all they are, are bed and bath and generally hideous unless I spend beaucoup bucks!
Glas tiles are lovely, I used recycled glass tiles in my bath re-do. Some pix on the link...yes I know I need to add some more updated pix...

I like
traditional, well designed simple white or light colored fixtures. I'm not big on those new rainforest drip sink basins. I want a more traditional look. I even like old antique toilets like the ones with the tank near the ceiling! And i love an old fashioned clawfoot tub...I just wouldn't want to get into one each time to shower.

i love color! i like neutural with the tub and fixtures and a great splash of color on the walls. it makes me happy!i have a 50's house(they were built like forts)and the original bathroom walls are tiled halfway up with great colors like yellow tile with a soft green trim. the floors are the tiny tiles in light and medium gren. i painted the walls a soft pink and i put a small purple trim on the cabinet. looks alot beter than it sounds and if i knew how to use a computer, i'd put a picture up.
