i was in an old german bookshop specialized in design/architecture. the woman there claimed that the barcelona chair was not designed by mies but by his assistent, some women, she could not remember the name, as she did not have the book in stock which mentioned this.
anybody any idea who this might have been? highly interested!!

Maybe the lady is related to the man who works at the petrol station on Highgate in London? he believes that Elvis is still alive and lives in Hawai.After so long now surely it would only be speculation or at best an educated guess.I would like to believe he designed it by himself.

well, i was also quite offended, with her saying that, but while discussing, she told me that this was really no secret, especially to the germans within bauhaus. His assistent, responsible for about 80% of mies' furniture settings/compositions within his architecture design at the time, was supposed to have made first sketches.......
This bookstore had nothing but designers' books etc, etc, woman was about 65+ and very sure about herself.... i am down there about once every 2 months, will definitely push for more details next time....

No, actually i dont see mel_jar?.I am aware of the manic depressives lyrics but i dont see how you mean "so you see vivienne"?.Perhaps you would explain to me?.I am aware that designers and other figureheads in different fields have a team around them who produce things if thats what you mean.

i assure you. I have never wore an "overall" and i dont think of myself as "ordinary" that would be the beginning of the end for me i think. However i do think that there is a lot of hearsay and rumour concerning different topics such as the one you posted, thats my opinion to which i am fully entitled.That ok honey?...
