TinyPic
is an easy site to use for photo hosting
(the photo bucket 'improvements' made it almost unusable for me too
(gorgeous sofa)

Hi
I think it's been posted here before (as well as the arm chair version), but I don't recall any details.
That was very helpful, I know.

thanks a bunch
Good starting point, thank you. Almost like x mas. When I wake up I check the forum so fun. I found alot of kurt olsen sofa similar
but not quite. On lauritz the had a black leather one super close, but the arm lines on this are sharper looking.
Im thinking 1950, what gives me this clue that is horse hair stuffing.

One of the best places online
that I know of (and I have no affiliation with them at all, just have purchased a few things and am impressed with their service and descriptions) is Modern-Fabrics.com . They have remnants but often they have substantial yardage, like enough for a sofa or more. You may have to be patient if you want something really specific or even just a particular fabric or color, but their prices on a lot of stuff (including Maharam/Kvadrat, which is Danish fabric) are usually around wholesale or even lower.
If you're not in a rush, I would just keep an eye on their listings and be ready to pounce if they have something good. I believe they will send swatches. Dunno about shipping to Canada--can't hurt to ask! I would think they do.
There are some good sellers on ebay, too. I mean, with good fabrics for MCM Danish furniture. Set up a saved search for Hallingdal and Tonus and then save the sellers who list that stuff, for future reference. Check back often.
My favorite fabrics are Hallingdal, Tonus and Tonica from Maharam/Kvadrat, and some of the Knoll fabrics (Arno, Cato, and probably one or two others I can't think of now). Balmory by Place Textiles is also very beautiful (all wool boucle)---approved by Herman Miller for use on their furniture.
