any info on Eames table bases?

can someone tell me whats the deal with this eames table, i have seen the same table with a few different bases. are they made in diff years or what?

im thinking of using it as my kitchen table but doesnt seem as if they are very desireable?

these bases were made aft...
these bases were made after 1966 the star base was from 54 to 65 the base you have is still in use today

There was the star base, contract base, LaFonda base and the segmented base.
In my opinion, your base if the nicest of the more popular base options. It's classy, and by the way, my Dining Room table has the flat star base....I prefer yours.

hi
the larger table tops use another type of 4-star base with chrome legs that lock into the column.

Your base is the best in my opinion,oldest is not best in all cases.The reason your is not "desired"is many/most people think/feel its office furniture.Bases dont stop and start by year...

and as far as I can tell,
none of the Eames bases were strictly designed for office use. From all of the books I got on Herman Miller, it appears that Eames designed their tables to have absolute duel usage (home and office).
To this day, both the Herman Miller office section, as well as the Herman Miller for the home section of their website has the exact same photos and information.

I said most people think its office furniture(they asked why its little desired),I know that it was is intended for dual usage by Eames...

Its the older base style its nice I like the quality surface of those tables...and the simple rubber bumper edge ...a nice touch
