Hey guys. I have a modernist style home with the Super-Elliptical Table Designed by Piet Hein as my dining table, surrounded by Series 7 chairs.
I want to buy a beautiful suspension lamp to hang over it and i would like to support an Australian designer (now living in Valencia) who runs a company called LZF (formerly Luzifer). His lamps utilise timber veneers, so when illuminated they produce a lovely warm glow. He suggest the i-club because it mimics the shape of my table. Could you guys take a look at his site and see what you think? The address is: www.lzf-lamps.com
You need to click on welcome, then click products and look under suspension lamps. He thinks it would look great in cherry wood because it's so timeless. Do you think the i-club is modernist in form??
Cheers
Stephen

Definitely modernist in...
Definitely modernist in form....the question is, in my mind, do you want to start mixing new design (like this lamp) with older classic designs like you Piet Hein table.
Overall, think its a nice lamp....I think you need to consider if the scale is correct and whether the shape will compliment the pieces which it hangs over. Just my 2 cents

thanks Jesgord
Thanks for getting back to me Jesgord. The scale of the smaller of the 2 i-clubs should be okay, as the table is 1.8 metres long, while the lamp is about 135cm. I kinda like mixing the old with the new, because I think otherwise you end up with a design museum or showroom look. So in my living/dining room, I have the Fritz hansen table and chairs, a modern white streamlined TV credenza, eames chair and ottoman, black leather sofa (modern), mega tolomeo, saarinnen tulip side table, and lots of colourful Aboriginal art on the walls.

I prefer Saturnia
I prefer Saturnia lamp, from the same site. The idea of the chery wood is nice, but the form of i-club is more suitable for a very long and nerrow table.
Is any price-list available somewhere? I simply adore those lamps!
