Porn. Yes.
I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one finding this thread pornographic.

I first thought the cow horn...
I first thought the cow horn amazing until I seen the bull horn chair.
I prefer the combo in the second image although that image is of a miniature version.

The Bull Horn is nice for sure, but for me
the Cow Horn is the most beautiful chair Wegner made (even more stunning than The Chair)
The subtle curve of the back. The amazing joinery. From the proper angle, the back really does look like a cow's horn.
Simply stunning. I only wish they weren't so rare. My dream set of six I fear may never sit around our table. I can only hope my set is sitting out there somewhere, just waiting to be posted on craigslist for a song. 🙂
Dare I say it's the one thing I'd seriously consider a quality reproduction of?

I use the W2 Wegner chair as I love the subtle shape of the backrest when used with a circular table.
Considering this chair has some very close similarities with 'The Chair' it seems to be one of Wegners underrated designs.

I've got a thing
for the Grete Grossman chairs for Glenn of California. They are sorta awkward but somehow also just right

Wouldn't it
be wonderful if we could all say that we'd sat in all of the chairs pictured ? Or am I the only "armchair student" of chair design ?
Specifically -- is Wegner's Bull Horn Chair, with it's "elbow arms," more comfortable, or less, than the Cow Horn Chair, which has proto-arms, or none at all ?
Will there be, in the future, a way to experience the FEELING of a chair without leaving the home ?

You mean
aside from buying the chairs and having them delivered?
Maybe cheap Chinese knockoffs will someday be accurate enough to give you the feel -- approximately, anyway -- of the originals.

...or perhaps someday we'll live without chairs.
I suspect Bernard Rudofsky would be pleased.
BTW, I like the Real Good Chair. It's not terribly comfortable without the pad, but I like it.

I was thinking
more of some kind of solid hologram, or buffered radio waves, or . . . an app ?
Netflix ? DWR Mobile ?

Yeah, I figured you were thinking of something like that...
or, knowing you, maybe some sort of adjustable, reconfigurable, folding sliding tilting wooden frame with various densities of modular foam upholstery tiles: Loosen all the wingnuts, get out your protractor and ruler, slide and swing the seat/back/arm pieces into a particular chair's configuration, tighten everything up and velcro the right cushions to the right spots, then close your eyes and sit.
Either way, though, I think buying knockoffs would be cheaper.
