Used to see loads of the gesture figures in the 1980s/early 90s. I've also got a couple of Girard's dolls too which are quite cool, if a little expensive.
Regarding the Vedel Birds, I have these in stock (all 3 sizes), along with other bits from Juhl, Kjaerholm etc which make great little accessories 🙂
I'll post some more pics of other bits I have soon!

Took me 10 years to finally find one of these! Tapio Wirkkala for iitala. This is the Lunaria Serving Bowl, NOT the more common Ultima Thule. 16"dia x 5"height.
Parents had one of these growing up, never thought I would find another. Only other one I saw wasn't for sale and I begged the owner of the MCM store. Found mine on ebay, and a month later purchased an even more rare 13"dia version.

Paid $185 on ebay for the large one and $65 for the medium one. Totally forgot that I then purchased the really small one that is only like 7inches in dia, and that cost me $110. So I beieve that I have the complete set.
It not only took me 10 years to find these, but 10 years to figure out what the name of the design was - think I had to let the internet do a little catching up.
I also own 2 of these in the pic, love them - they huge not the small 7" ones. Looking for the really rare and expensive "ice" edition next.
Try this web page, I highly recommend it: http://www.designlasi.com/en
great thread!
I collect old oil portraits and whatever other art (usually anonymous) catches my eye at estate auctions. I like these three together.
I also have a lot of little figures for someone who claims not to collect little figures. The teak cat is Danish and the metal one is a Walter Bosse, I think. Or looks a lot like one if it isn't one. The turtle is Japanese and has glass eyes. That's a tray behind them---thin wood cutouts on black lacquer or resin or something---may be from southeast Asia, I dunno. It has a pelican in the center.
Last is my favorite portrait. I dunno who she is or who painted her. The vases need thinning out a bit. The bigger gray one with wavy orange marks is a Japanese art studio piece and the rest are just Japanese pieces from the 50s-60s and good amateur pottery. I like all the earthy glazes and the contrasting shapes together.
