Here's a new subject to follow my original Nelson clock thread. What's your favourite MCM accessorie/s? I've recently been buying items for my home inc. Vedel's birds, some candle holders from BMF etc
I guess this is a rather large subject, but to narrow it slightly - lets talk about sculptures, ceramics, glass, eames bird etc (no clocks, wall art) 🙂 Fire away..
Feel free to post images of your items!
kitchen goodies
What a great question ! (Euhh, is there a limit to how much different stuff we can post ? ;o) Love that the grain of the wood is still visible in those Vedel birds.
My latest buys were a couple of things for the kitchen (pics below):
an orange Fire King milkglass mug (for a dash of color)
and a whimsy owl trivet..
Btw, those planters look sure look excellent. Perhaps a duo ? I bought a (very affordable beginner's) bonsai to have a bit of green.. (and an additional book on how to keep the thing alive. :o)
Great idea for a thread btw....
Great idea for a thread btw.
was browsing ebay last night, and came accross this:
Also thinking of bidding on this:

Anyone know anything about it?
cheers!
Silly, but
Silly, but I've fallen in love with these mirrors from IKEA. They are super simple, walnut framed, kind of deep set. I bought 2 for over the couch, and am thinking of another two for various parts of the house.
Its funny - everything else in the line is very rustic and clunky - but these are just lovely!
Wow, that's odd...
I just bought exactly those mirros, Lucifer Sum...and I imagine in the very same IKEA in Stoughton...they're going over the sinks in my guest bath redo.
I'm not much of an accessorizer...my coffee table is completely empty except for a small red glass tealight holder from IKEA. My kitchen counters are a bare as I can make them. But I tend to favor natural materials, wood, glass, metals, pottery. I like things that look crafted, but not awkwardly handmade. I'm famous for buying things I like the shape of and removing the gewgaws or spray-painting the thing a single color. I love the birds and the coffee-mug above... but the owl trivet...not so much.
Some of the things I love you can see in the link below. Boy, do I ever need to get some new shots up! Anyway, I love my Morso woodstove. I love my teapots, I never get tired of looking at (and using) these objects. I also have a newly acquired replica of a Cambodian Bodhisatva, similar to the forms at Angor Wat. It is a supremely beautiful form. And I've got a small handmade Japanese jewelry box made of cherry and black lacquer that I love.

Hi there BJ
well the red terracotta pot is noting too unusual. The pottery one tothe left looks potentiall like its porcelain, but it seems a bit bulky to be porcelain. The one to the right withthe green figures...that one looks interesting...But I don't collect pottery teapots, I collect cast iron tetsubin. Got me a couple of old ones...they're really interesting things...delicate yet workhorses.
I do like that look of those...
I do like that look of those tetsubin myself, but for me there's to much of them around. Ofcourse, the idea of finding a really old and heavy used one like you has definitly got some appeal!
I had the same thoughts as you do, I believe the interesting one is chinese.. I like it's form, the decoration on it is rather charming in its naivity..
