Just found a treasure! An original WWII splint being given away on ...

I think they're drawing in September for it. 🙂

Random drawings don't excite me.
But -- a coloring contest? The splint would be mine already.

Well I hate to be an asshole.. but why in the hell would anyone want to posses a leg splint, unless they require such a device for medical purposes. Certainly not because the splint was designed by Eames? Now given the fact that the splint must be old, should one also expect any stains/used bandages/smells/dried whatever/..to come with the piece? And has anyone ever seen a splint hanging as some sort of functional art? Give me a break.
Carry on...

I've seen quite a few people...
I've seen quite a few people hang them as decor. They were a precursor to the plywood chairs and designing the splint gave them the tools and technology to design and manufacture the chairs. People who have them are simply celebrating the connected design history of Eames products.
And, no, I don't own one. But I'd like to!

Honestly...
I wonder how many of these splints were actually used during wartime.... There seems to be quite a bit of new old stock floating around.
I have never seen a "used" one offered for sale.
