Hi all,
I've stumbled across a womb chair and I can't be sure that it's an original, i'm hoping someone here can help me? My gut feeling is that it may be a copy, but it is well made and the material is a boucle. The proportions also seemed right. Where the seams join, it felt like it was lined with lead (is this right?) as I could lift the seam and then push it down again to re-align it. I can't find the Knoll stamp on the frame though. There is also a sewn-in label for the fire safety regs (did Knoll add these?), so it's obviously post '88. Here's a link to several pictures that I took which hopefully should help:
Thank you as always
Dan

Looks right to me.
Though it's a shame that you even have to question its authenticity. Seems like not that long ago there weren't knock-offs of the womb chair out there polluting the waters.
While you are at the auction, maybe throw a bid at the fooseball table too. Those are lots of fun.
