There's lots of non-Knoll Womb chairs and ottomans out there...usually selling for less than 1/3 of the Knoll version....how's the quality?

The ones being sold on eBay claim to have fibreglass frames, quality foam padding and 100% wool fabric.

Besides the moral issue...are they crapily made? Will they fall apart in no time?

They suck.
At first it's hard to tell from the Ebay photos, because they're usually shot from flattering angles, but the dimensions of the knockoff chairs are REALLY wrong. Once you've seen one in person, or seen an honest photo, it's easy to spot the wrongness even in the Ebay photos (and also to see how poor the quality is, if you care about stuff like that).
Below are two photos: A crappy camera-phone snapshot of a real Womb in a dark room, and a professionally-shot photo of the knockoff that all or nearly all of the Ebay vendors are selling.
The link below the photos points to more photos of the knockoff. Don't click unless you have a strong stomach.

You're right
not too pretty, to be sure.
I'm in the process of moving from Minneapolis to Phoenix and I hope to buy a larger house, so getting a second lounge chair and ottoman is on my 'to do' list. I will, of course, keep my vintage Grasshopper chair and ottoman.
I may have to replace my sofa because even though it's a nice Milo Baughman two-seater with vintage, high-end Boris Kroll custom fabric (it's in great condition), the original design of the frame is such that when you sit down, there's little support (you sit down way too deep). I had an upholstery friend look at it, and that's the way it's made.
I will probably keep it, but I'll probably want to find a larger sofa that's a bit more stiff (like a Florence Knoll leather sofa with arms)....
Getting back to the Womb chair, besides the apparent weird look of the chairs, I wonder if the knockoffs are made to last.

It could go...either way
I have 4 of those Chinese knockoff Nelson clocks (Eye, Steering Wheel, Blue Block and Turbine) and they seem to be made exactly like the Vitra's.
When it comes to furniture, of course, they could be crap, or they could be contructed as well as the originals....
After all, didn't they take an original apart and replocate it?

It's nice of you to give them the benefit of the doubt...
... but no, the Womb knockoffs don't seem to be built very well.
