I picked up these wild looking chairs. I do not know who designed them and would like to find out. I thought that they could be Salterini? Anyone out know? Thanks in advance for the help

yes they are
these are indeed salterini, I have four of them, and they are very early.

early salterini!! Good to know. I have a few Salterini catalogs, some of them early - and I couldn't find your chairs in any of them. Its interesting to know that Salterini stuff was pretty expensive when it were manufactured. I have a catalog from 1955 with a price list and these simple rattan & metal chairs I have were originally $65 each. That a lot for 1950s patio furniture...
