This might be the right time...
This might be the right time to reinsert my comment that was deleted today.............
Vive la differance.
Thats the great thing about the fact we all enjoy design,it does something different for all of us,what makes me happy might make someone else feel differently.
I guess for me my reason for being more Pop based in terms of preference comes from the fact I came from a house full of antiques. My dad is an avid collector of all things Georgian, the only colours were mahogany, walnut,Giltwood and rosewood, then I discovered wildly colourful furniture and I fell in love.
To each their own I say.
The moist important thing is to respect the fact that what you dislike will be liked by someone else.

Actually, for the most part no. I guess my work comes out the way it does for one reason or another ... not sure quite why.

my answer
i love pop art and that period of the early to mid 60's when i was a high school kid I love Andy Warhol,
Peter Max, Caulder , Miro, Vasserly, Agom,Appel, I acquired art works by these artist in the late 60's and 70's and i still love there work
to me they represent the best of Pop ,I loved pop furniture from a far for a long time working in Houston in the early 70's when the likes of Philip Johnson, Cesar Pelli, I.M.Pei were building skyscrapers every week and they were being filled with modern wonderful furniture the likes of Warren Planter, Sarrine,Jacobsen, Mies, Baughman , and i was standing on the side lines mostly cause I could not afford it but admired it,
so whether those were good times or bad times that is a matter of ones opion this writer likes to think they were good times , I think there is nothing wrong to think that your furniture can be fun, Color is what it is. ones eye hitting the color spectrum finding something to the eye to be pleasing , There are no wrong answeres or wright answers just ones desire to express what they like and where they came from and where they are going,

One of my favourite...
One of my favourite designers is Pierre Paulain. His chairs - the Ribbon Chair + ottoman in particular - look as fresh and futuristic today as they did in the mid sixties when he designed them. The other is Akikaze who designed my space age light sculpture:

Every thing she does is not fussy, but unique. I also like her as a person and role model.
