Interesting. Do you suppose the legs had metal sleeve caps, accounting for the color difference ? Nah -- I would expect the legs to be stepped down in size for them. . .

The tips of the legs are made of teak, I suppose. Whether the rest of the frame is oak or beech I can't quite tell. I saw the chair on a Danish website so I haven't inspected it personally, but I just love these quirky chairs from the 1950's.
