First post but have gleaned some good stuff from the site.
Anyway, I've got this chair and I'm not coming up with any *exact* matches. I'd have thought even if it was a knockoff I've have seen another one or two around the web.
Wood appears to be rosewood of one variety or another and the frame seems pretty consistent with the Arne Norell Sirocco Safari chair. It's certainly not new or recent but seems to have been fairly well taken care of. I bought it from a collector's estate that had some fairly nice and unique furnishings.
I did see this one linked below that had the adjustable upper back hardware like this one but no back cushion, and the frame is square, the seller implied it may have been an early commission or prototype.

Any ideas?
Rolled off the first page without replies so I'll ask if anyone can suggest somewhere else to take this question?
Thanks,

The chair
I have one of these as well that I have had restored. I've never seen one with a back cushion. Most only have to bottom cushion and that is it. Usually the back is belted lower. It might be an early version. These chairs first appeared about 1964-66. How is the bottom tied? One possibility is that there was another chair and the bottom cushion was used as a back cushion.

Re back cushion
Thanks for commenting.
That was my first thought too, that the back cushion came from another chair. But in this case the back cushion is full leather both sides, essentially reversible. The seat cushion on the other hand has a fabric square on the bottom and straps to secure it to the chair frame as seen below.

Scanform
I believe this is the Scanform version of Arne Norell's Safari Chair. Scanform is a Colombian company that I believe was licensed to build the Norell design. I've never seen one with a back cushion so I believe thats just a seat cushion from another chair. I have one that looks just like that but with a Scanform tag.
