Great chair, and thread. Dux produced a number of really good designs. I know this thread is focusing on Mathsson, but I'm going to try to link to an interesting Folke Ohlsson url, also related with Dux, on Ohlsson and the sale of his estate in California a few years ago.

Another designer who did some really nice pieces for Dux is Alf Svensson, who was the chief designer of Dux in Sweden.

Are these the chrome-framed chairs with wheels you speak of? Something about them I really like. They are not my normal cup of tea...

More DUX
@ hudsonhonu. I went to Folke Ohlsson's estate sale. It was such a memorable experience. His house was so nice. I got some old Dux catalogs from there too. Some of them have writings in it, probably his.
Dux actually had an office in Palo Alto, CA which is the next city down from where I live. From the photos on the catalog it was such a nice building. Actually drove by to see if it was still there but nothing. But maybe the photos were of another office.
@ whitespike. Those are similar indeed. Interesting evolution.

Good to hear. Caco, was the estate sale an auction or a tag sale or ... ?
It is surprising to me that one of the modern auction houses was not involved, especially given the locale. I imagine most of us here at the DA forum have had the good fortune to attend a sale of this type, always for me kind of a bittersweet experience.
The artwork shown in the link, among other things, is quite impressive.

Tag Sale
It was a tag sale. They had a preview the day before it started which I didn't attend. I actually thought it was going to be a huge line on the opening day. Surprisingly not. I talked to some people who went to the preview and told me the prices were too high so that scared a few away. Things didn't sale quick. You could put up bids on an item if you didn't wanted to pay the price on the tag.
Those type of sales are definitely a bittersweet experience. The fact that you are entering someones house, life etc...And of course the people who enters trying to take everything from you, pushing people...It's just sad but if you put that aside, it was such a good experience to be around the things an amazing designer created.

Did you see the pieces that were from the Ohlsson estate in the March 23rd Wright auction? I liked the little scale-model chairs.
