I have come to the untmost saddness that its sitting collecting dust in the corner.
I tryed to sell it on a few sites no bits.
Whats à girl to do....
The 3 grand to get it done will be way to far off. Any suggestions?
I am not sure what you're ask...
I am not sure what you're asking.
Since you didn't tell us the price you were asking, I can only assume it was too high.
All the prices you see on-line are retail. A lot of those people sit on those "valuable" items for years and years.
If you're selling it on CL, you're basically looking for a buyers that is willing to spend 3 grand for upholstery, their time and effort plus whatever you're asking. In my opinion, you won't find that on CL.
At the end of the day, it's just stuff.
If you're spending that much mental energy on it, I'd let it go.
I value my time more than I do things.
I see a lot of people at the end of their life. Their homes are filled with "valuable" things. They spent their lives working for big homes to store garbage. Some of them can't even move in their houses at the end of their lives.
I'd set it free at whatever price someone will buy it at and never think twice about it. Otherwise stick it in the garage, move it from house to house for the next several decades, knowing in your heart of heart that you're never going to spend 3k on it but at the same time you're just too cheap to let it go to someone for nothing. When you're dead and gone they probably won't be able to get 20 bucks for it at your estate sale. Complete waste of a thing to have spent your life on, but everyone's got different ideas.
As above: lower the price. ...
As above: lower the price.
A difficult to upholster chair without upholstery is worth much less than one in dire need of upholstery, because it is even harder for the buyer to imagine what it could look like, because the buyer suspects there is a hidden reason/flaw that made you drop the project (like it could be fake, who knows from the internal structure, anyway), and then the buyer has to find the rare upholsterer who already has the patterns for the fabric, because the old upholstery can't be picked apart for use as the pattern.
If it were mine I'd consider the value a few bucks north of zero.
Oh oh oh oh
Duct tape is now available in many fashionable colors at the local supermarket.
People make wallets and clothing out of duct tape, you could wrap up a multicolored duct tape 1959 egg chair with just a few rolls, yes? This type of fabric has its drawbacks, but who cares?
Yup, that's my big idea.
Hi everybody
Hmmm duct tape i like the way you think lol
Keewee you are bang on about time is more precious then stuff.
You live à great life when you can do that. Money is just money its a tool really that is nessessary. By me saying that im not rich by no means. I just love the fact it lasted this long and came from so far away. I didnt mention price cause i thought that was against the rules of the forum.
Their are à few people that do upolstoy around here for the egg.
Its just à investment that i cant keep .other wise my house would be covered in caution tape, trying to keep the two twin boys, the dog away from, ill have to sell it to afford the Botox shots from the stress. Duct tape is cheap it would be à very arty statement. Lol
