We are looking to replace our current formal dining room light with a George Nelson saucer light. But we can't decide between the two saucers below. I think the straightforward saucer looks more formal but my SO and friends think the criss cross saucer is more sophisticated. Anyone that owns either care to share their opinion? Our 11x14 dining area is MCM with vintage furniture, standard height ceiling. Thanks!
They look cheap..
I owned one, it looked cheap and I sold it.
I'm entitled to my opinion.
The ikea pendant lights (not sure they still make the ones I'm referring to) looked infinitely better in my opinion.
Seriously, if these werent designed by George Nelson would you pay 300-400 bucks or however much they currently go for?
Well . . .
not to be ornery, but EVERYONE has the "plain" one -- I've grown a bit tired of looking at it. A new owner would feel different, of course. But it they're both Nelson designs -- or even if not -- I'd probably go for the cross-your-heart model. It's fresh - to these old eyes, anyway.
Yes, virtualaudubon...
You are indeed entitled to your opinion. You're also entitled to be ill-informed. You're entitled to be wrong as well. You're even entitled to be contrary if you like. You're entitled to be silly, too. You sleep good tonight, vertigoauthentic. You're entitled.
