There is alot of crap...
There is alot of crap 'sculpture' on ebay. I have found a couple pieces there that I really like. One was a brutalist sculpture that I was never able to determine who made it. It has initials welded into it, but no one was ever able to identify it. It's one of my favorite pieces that I have. It also gets the most comments from other people. And no, WHC, I didn't buy it for 'company'. I bought it because I really liked it. It happens that visitors seem to really like it too. So you can find good stuff on ebay but it is really hit or miss with sculptures. I have also looked at auction sites but have never found anything I like near as much as that piece. I don't plan on buying another sculpture until I find one that wows me.

subjective...
sculpture is entirely subjective, as with any art, its in the eye of the beholder...you can find it any where- thrift stores, galleries, Nature, city streets and so on...i have many pieces, that im sure hold little to no $$ value, but they are pieces that draw my eye. that are appealing to me, and incidentally add to my environment. big or small-what defines art is you, for you and you should select accordingly...
p.s. my latest and a new favorite-$o.65+tax at thrift store
