I've been looking on the internet for a reasonable priced Eames Lounge chair incl. a Ottoman. The prices differ a lot, even the replica's/ knock offs. I can not afford to buy a genuine Vitra/Miller version and are therefore looking to buy a replica. Even the replica's are listed for up to $2000, this is way too much for me. If you have a website for me where to buy a lounge chair pretty cheap if would really appreciate it. Thanks for your help.

My suggestion I'm not sure if any of the knockoffs are of the good enough quality that it would be worth your while. My best suggestion; see if you can snag one at eBay. I have never wanted this iconic lounge chair because it's almost a stereotype of good design; I went for a Saarinen Grasshopper Lounge chair and ottoman. (I didn't want a lounge that swiveled....) If I couldn't have found my Grasshopper chair, I would've bought a Womb chair and ottoman instead. I love the 670/671 Eames, but it's not right for me....

Simon
Are you sure? Have you considered the sheer abundance of loungers available, some with style & comfort rivaling the Lounger?
I'm with Barry, as this is a great chair/design. It is an icon no doubt. This chair has been produced to death, and there are plenty floating around originals & "reissues". Which leads me to the overpricing of Eames mass produced products...LCW/M DCW/m Lounger etc...be wary! Ebay would be a great place to start researching. You'll find they show up more often than truly rare pieces at comparable prices. Try craigslist too.

Options and other loungers I gotta say I'm in agreement too: I love this chair - a coworker has one in her office at work, I sit in it every day for meetings. However, if price is an issue this might not be the chair for you. There are some other fantastic lounge chairs that have a similar look that can be had for a fraction of the price, without resorting to a knockoff of iffy quality. (incidentally - the 670 is not a reissue or a replica; it has been continuously produced by the same manufacturer since 1957) Look up some of the George Mulhauser designs for Plycraft. Many are complete knock-offs of the Eames 670, but many are good designs in their own right, and frequently show up on Craigslist or Ebay anywhere from the $50-$900 range. A good, very simple lounge chair is the Risom lounge chair - about $7-800 through Knoll. If you like the Eames style talk to LRF about redoing a fiberglass shell in leather and put it on a Low Rod (Cat's cradle) base. I've got one of those and I LOVE it. Or you could do the Eames Aluminum lounge - another great chair that I think is often overlooked - about $1500 from DWR.

thanks...
thanks for all your helpful replies. It's a good thing you really give me something to think about. I was kinda only looking at the "good old" lounge chair bij Eames and if must admit that i was looking at the knock-offs. Only because i cannot afford a chair of several thousands i was looking at the knock offs. I have also looked at ebay, but the problem with that is that we really want two (we think is symetrics 🙂 ).
I will definately take a look at some other chairs, but still... Is it really so that some of the knock-offs are such poor quality that it's even a bit scary to sit in it? Aren't there some from which it is well known that the quality is really good?
I will definately let you know how it went. Before i forget; i found some chairs for a reasonable price (au. $895) but unfortunately the shippings costs from Australia to the Netherlands is about AU $1500!!!! Not a very good option as you might imagine.... 🙂

knock-off/replica chair will...
knock-off/replica chair will never be the same as original is. spend your money a chair you can afford. original one. if that's no option... then start saving for it.

Get a Grasshopper Chair
You can buy the Grasshopper Chair from Modernica for under $2000.00 with the ottoman.
It's no longer available from Knoll and I've been told that this Modernica reissue has a stronger frame than the Knoll original.

I like the idea of the aforementioned Mulhauser chair. It would look good as a pair. It's beautiful, affordable, and unexpected. If I didn't have the 670 that's what i would have.

i went into a furniture ...
i went into a furniture store in my hometown today looking for a a makeup chair for my wife, they sell really funky modern furniture and bad reproductions,
I saw on the floor for the first time the eames lounge chair made by alphaville for 2400.00
i thought for a moment and said to my self i hope no one buys that sucker, as it look good just not right.
the base was to shiny The leather was nice and it was the Eames hidden wood seams and said on the bottom alphaville design,
I talked to the lovely lady who worked at the store and told her what i did and told her i am real familiar with Alphaville she responded and said i am glad you are cause there stuff is horrible
after thinking that we have beat this subject to death
about Alphaville being the best of the worst of the China villains, she said every thing that they have purchased one time or another has had problems.
I said how awful! she said they bought 4 nelson bench's for a doctors office and all had to be remade re drilled and screwed and repainted (and the one i bought from them had to be remade just like it ) They bought 2 Eames chairs one broke completely through the ply wood the other on the floor for your eyes only she said, a LeCorbuier lounge with pony leather a broken tether on the back unable to be fixed, at all,
I use to like this company but I feel real sorry for a brick and mortar company that has to make a living from their stuff, not like the Interent companies with low overhead, she did say they do make the best barcelona chairs they call them the exposition chair and good brnos and a nice Noguchi table but after that buyer be ware.
so no recommendations on the Alphaville eames knockoff a nice dead ringer but trouble up ahead. for 2400 no deal at all.
stay with Herman miller on that one.

Mulhauser
Muhauser has had some really fantastic designs for plycraft. The problem is that I only ever see them in person, and rarely have opportunity to take photos. Googling Mulhauser, Goldman, or Plycraft doesnt seem to turn up much other than the eames knock-off, and the above posted plycraft chair. But keep searching, his stuff is pretty goofy looking and great!
LRF, I do love the Risom chair. I think he's somewhat underlooked as a designer. The simplicity and understatement in his work is beautiful and reminds me of Aalto. (imho)

Eames Lounge chair for a reasonable price
I have purchased eames lounge chair and ottoman at www
They carry the Nuevo (Canadian Manufacturer) version which looks very similar to the original design and is actually great quality for a knock off.

If I was buying a new lounge chair,
I would go for the Knoll Saarinen Womb chair and ottoman in red. Beautiful, strong fabric, comfortable design and since it doesn't swivel it's very stationery and stable.
My Grasshopper chair and the Eames 670 lounge chair are very low the ground and though comfortable, it's kind of a bitch to get up from!
I love my Grasshopper chair (I got it vintage and had it repaired and recovered), but if I were doing over again, the Womb would be the one for me.
By the way, I love my Aalto zebra fabric 'Tank' lounge chair too (which I was lucky to buy at half price), but it's also beastly to get up out of.
