An Eames walnut stool is just the thing I need next to my reading chair (Saarinen Womb). Everything else I've tried is just a cacophany of legs. However, the price of the Eames is just silly. I've looked at some inexpensive versions of a wood block stool at Target, Ikea, West Elm, Chiasso and a few others, but I've not found anything that floats by boats. Anyone know of anything else I should look at?
Funny you should say that
I have a chunk of log out in my woodbin that I won't let my hubby burn, cuz I may just turn it into a table! I also have a friend that does architectural wood turnings, balusters, table bases, that kind of thing, he'll create me a replica of the Eames if I want it, but somehow that seems....I don't know...odd...
kidding.

I have to politely disagree. ...
I have to politely disagree. I pesonally think the Eames stool would look good next to anything (even a dead body) ... I would say a pile of books high enough to use as a table would be quite a bit of clutter. Not to mention it would make the books hard to use. You would have to repile everytime you wanted to read one!

"Platners wire table in bronze finish"
I think that table could give me real happiness ... especially in bronze.
