And how did you come by it?
I think my first love had to have been 1900's golden oak furntiure but I progressed from there to mid-century modern somehow. I flirted a bit with the kitchsy stuff and some of the more mod Panton and Eames things but I think my heart is really with the good Danish designs of the 50's and early 60's.
I admit I am heavily influenced by having lived there for a year and having visited many other times and having dear Danish friends with exquisite taste. And I've been very lucky to have gotten some beautiful furniture at auction locally for not a lot of money. (OK, not all luck---some knowledge and a whole lotta patience was involved, too).
You?
not quite sure..
whether this is my 'passion', but i find myself drooling every time a nice 'perpetual calendar' crosses my path. Enzo Mari did some very nice ones for Danese (i'll put in some links).
But unfortunately i have no photos at hand of my personal 'calendar of calendars' (a black wall mounted panel with removable white & red plastic rings to denote the time) which i had first seen in the decor of '2001: A Space Odyssey' i think, and then later in an internet auction (when bidding was over). Sad, so sad :os
Another related favorite: all graphical style 'flip' clocks. yes, the drooling is pervasive.
