The steel rod furniture from the post-war period
is gaining in popularity. It would be great to see
the fans of this unique furniture show off their
favorite pieces.

Whether it's a chair, table or a lamp. Post pics of the
pieces you prize or would like to call your own.

I think the Kone chair by Australian designer Roger McClay
Is truly a beautiful piece of furniture design.

uhm...
I hope this is a steel rod chair as well.
Or is it only a chair with steel legs?
Well I like the bachelor chair by Verner Panton.
Otherwise it would be the Womb Chair by Saarinen

These are 2 of my favorites. Also love the combination of metal and cord in chairs by Allan Gould, Clement Meadmore and Hans Wegner.

For me
probably the Bertoia chairs (all of 'em), The Platner group and the Nelson Basic Storage pieces with hairpin legs.

I don't like much that ISN'T "vintage steel rod furniture"...
...but my favorite is the Eames ETR coffee table. There's just nothing about it that isn't perfect.

I agree fastfwd, what's not...
I agree fastfwd, what's not to love about steel rod furniture. Whether it's Eames, Nelson, Ernest Race, Robin Day, Mategot and Bertoia, there is nothing quite as nice as a steel frame chair.
For my money Frank Guille's version of the Jason chair off Kandya
Is. Thing of great beauty.

That chair reminds me
of an old Ryan O'Neal movie...

One one my favorites: the under appreciated Kofod "penguin," as I've heard it called... Not sure if that's the real name. Danish. 1950.

tony paul
I really like Tony Paul's designs. If you search under Tony Paul coatrack(misspelled) in this forum, there is a photo of what I think might be TP. Unfortunately, I have not been able to verify. Finelines has a shorter version of the same rack.
Just found the proper steel and will replace the one missing hanger as soon as I can find a welder to do it.
I also like Arthur Umanoff's designs.

Clement Meadmore
Australian artist Clement Meadmore made furniture during the 1950′s before he found international success as a sculptor. Most of his work is constructed using steel rod and cotton or synthetic cord, but the simplicity and sculptural quality make his chairs something quite unique. Below is a sample of some of his work from the fifties.
