Not Allan Gould
I've never seen these chairs successfully attributed to Allan Gould. In fact, I passed on a set of 6 of them just the other day. There are several versions of the Compass chair, but this is not one of them. As far as who DID make it, not sure. Strikes me as somewhat generic 1950s American furniture.
Indiana Chair Co.
I figured out that it was made by Indian Chair Co. However, I have yet to find who the actual designer is. My guess is that they saw the Gould chairs and just copied with a similar design. Another case of a small company copying another persons design in order to make a buck?
I picked up a set of 4 of these chairs today. They will need a full restoration. And I'm bummed they aren't Gould's, but I still think I did alright on them.
If I Google
"compass chair gould" I see photos of four different chairs, all of them with the designation "Allan Gould Compass Chair" !
I am always drawn to objects made with a minimum number of parts which nevertheless demonstrate strength and style. The above chair seems a likely candidate at first -- but it fails to demonstrate the finesse of a masterful design. The legs are heavy in relation to the heft of the arm/back piece; the legs have one profile on the inner face and another on the outside; the back is cut abruptly at its ends. There is brute strength, perhaps -- but not quite enough grace. Still, I like it.

I just sold a pair of these and mine were stamped Fernwood Mfg. underneath the upholstery.
I found them for sale here attributed to "Zarrus":
