As long as it doesn't feel like I'm plopping my ass down on a giant cheese grater, I'll be satisfied. I'm very happy with the combination of materials as well as the hue of the chair. Very muted colors for a Girard piece which I think will make it less obtrusive and match nicely with my Nelson modular sofa. Already have a couple of Girard Fruit Tree pillows waiting for the chair. Can't wait to see it next to the sofa adorned with a couple of granny quilts and a pair of Girard Double Triangles pillows. Geek out mode, ENGAGE!!!

A thing I've noticed with more formal upright seating, when used with an ottoman, it can increases the comfort level. Something to consider.
Now try finding a Girard ottoman...
The chair you bought dances! A little imagination and the chair can segue into a Jazz dance...maybe some toe tappin. Find a mate for it and they'll do an Austrian Waltz...some Argentina Tangos...or downhome square dance.
new foam
You can get soft density latex foam. That way it'll be comfortable but will still retain the crisp profile that is essential to the design. I wouldn't go with any kind of down fill, even a wrap. It gives a very poufy look.
Foamorder.com sells many densities of latex foam and will cut cushions to order. They ship them vacuum packed at a reasonable rate.

Lunch...if you choose to have it refilled
then you'll have to find an expert who can dismember the chair properly so you can save whatever fabric you might want to save. I believe that an expert should be able to restuff the chair and save the original fabric!
I know that my friend David, here in Minneapolis would be able to.
