What's the fascination with the Madmen set??

Frankly,I thought Fraser had nicer digs,save for his dad's Duct taped barcolounger.To me,the Madmen furniture is okay at best.All on beige wall to wall carpeting and deco elements thrown in?-meh.The painting is hung way too high above the sofa,for one.Anyhow,sorry to sound like a heretic,but it just doesn't do it for me.Your thoughts?

Seems to me
the lamps are the primary goof. But this is a "warm modern" design, so maybe they fit under that definition. . .

the nomenclature may attract mcm buyers?
I notice a number MCM listings have "Mad Men" in the heading.Possibly to attract prospective buyers? Even the art gets attention. Anyhow,I was wondering if they actually had killer pieces,but nothing I see is a wow.
