you simply don't have room? I have an opportunity to get a really nice blue Herman Miller 3-seat chicklet sofa for less than $100. But it's about a 4-hour drive from me and I don't have any room for it. I know I could flip it for a profit, but the thought of an 8-hour round trip plus the headache of storing it somewhere that I won't trip all over it is preventing me from taking the bait. Who here would go for it?

Depends on what it's worth to you....
4-hour drive is pushing it... For me, it would have to be a really good deal or a really nice item that I want. I would pass on a Chiclet sofa. From what I gather, they don't really seem to sell that easily.

I'd go above and beyond for something I truly desired at the perfect price point. Travel around the world? I'd do it.
For a chicklet sofa, and just a chicklet...I wouldn't.

It's a loooong drive ...
... unless you really love it or will make a fortune off it. Is it worth a day's pay? The possibly that it won't be as nice as you expect? That the seller might sell it out from under you?
Two of them are listed here now. One is $300 and one is $395.

Lenox,
It's yours. I had already decided to let it go. I picked up 4 Nelson swag-legged side tables from the same place about 2 years ago for $12 total, and I still use all 4 of them. I know I won't use the chicklet sofa...just hard to let a potentially good deal go by, I guess. 🙂
And yeah, it may not go for less than $100, but I'd be surprised if it goes for anywhere close to what it's valued at. Good luck. 🙂

I guess that's why we're "design addicts"
I often have the same quandry in situations like that.Happens with art, too. No more wall space, but always looking for that killer painting.Ah,well, there's worse vices,I suppose.

I would probably buy it if...
I could afford it, if only to sell it to someone who appreciates it. I'm terribly protective of beautiful and rare mid-century pieces.
