OH, man....
....I got two mint-in-box Verner Panton Flowerpot hanging light fixtures today at auction for a grand total of $1.20. Yes, that is one dollar and twenty cents. They are originals, not re-issues.
They're orange. Cute as a button. They're a little too mod for my 50's Danish mod (think teak, muted colors) decor so I am gonna stick 'em on Ebay, but still. I'm chuffed.
i still have my original...
i still have my original knoll tulip table purchased in 1960..got the tbl and 4 tulip chairs, new, for about $500..got rid of the chairs after 5 yrs, and only found out about 6 yrs ago that my tbl was such a collectible.
kick myself every so often for ditching the chairs...who knew?
Wegner nesting tables
I found some Hans Wegner Nesting tables at a garage sale for $30 in fantastic shape.
Two FLW/Henredon 4-drawer cabinets/nightstands for $25 at a flea market. They were a bit rough, but i've cleaned them up and look pretty good now.
A beautiful Kurt Ostervig credenza and Peter Hvidt drop leaf table, paid a good amount for them, but definitely below auction prices.
Several other odds and ends, but these stick out and are enjoyed on a day to day basis.
Maybe not spectacular..
..but I thought it was a good deal.
I was browsing at my local thrift store and ran across this floor lamp.
The tag on the inside of one of the shades identified it as a "Laurel Lamp Manufacturing Co. Newark NJ" product. I loved the tulip shaped base and brought it home for a few bucks.
