I picked up these side tables yesterday for about $15 each. They say Baumritter New York on the back but after hours of searching I have yet to find a similar series, or general dates or a value. I'm think they are bedside tables and guess them to be early 60's but beyond that I'm clueless.
Any suggestions are appreciated.
I kind of like the knife edge
sides, but not the scored grid and not the plinth base. Or the look of the drop-front surface (too clunky--should be the same knife edge!)
I would bet that they are part of a set with a matching headboard---double, which no one uses anymore--and highboy dresser, and a long, low dresser with a big mirror.
Taking a moment to google "baumritter bedroom set" and yep, here's a pair of what you have in slightly different configuration along with other items in the set.

Thanks for your comments and...
Thanks for your comments and the link. I did look at that listing and saw those tables and how they matched up with a headboard and I had sort of assumed that these would line up with a headboard when I saw them which honestly is one of the reasons I don't really like them that much. But I keep thinking that in the right environment they would look great and maybe in a different color or something. I'll probably just put them in storage for a while until I decide to clear it out again (something I do a couple of times a year) and they might wind up at the same Goodwill where I purchased them. Ha!
I just keep buying stuff and cramming it in there... I bet there are 30 lamps already. Ugh.
