What do you all think of this mosaic art?

Hey guys,

I found this at a mid century modern store. It came out of a large 50-60's house in a high end area of town. It came from Mexico. It is mosaic glass pieces. I think it is missing some glass pieces, as it is old, but it is really not noticeable, and they probably are replaceable. It is very large (4' x 3'?) and I am told VERY heavy and marked down to $300. I kind of like it, but sometimes I dont trust my own opinion. I cant decide if its a little garish. Dont be afraid to tell me that it's hideous - that's what I want to hear. I would love to hear what you all think of it. Thank you.

From the pic, it looks more like "gravel art" than a true mosaic. Either way, If I had that dough to spend on a mosaic, I'd buy an Evelyn Ackerman

Maybe mosaic is not the right word
It's made of glued broken glass. I am thinking I dont like it so much as I initially did. I looked up Ackerman's stuff - nice!

Context & Texture
She is big. I would not be surprised to see this in a tropical resort setting. It maybe easier to appreciate
it in person if one sees the texture of the material.
The oval shape reminds me of a bed bug. Thanks 4 sharing.
