I saved these from ending up in the dump but clearly there is the issue of what to do with them. Am I crazy for thinking of just chopping the backs off and making stools?
FYI- they're not vintage, but beat up from a set of 50 that came out of a defunct restaurant.

I believe you can order replacement parts from Carl Hansen. Their customer service department in NYC is very helpful – why don't you give them a call?
Alternatively, call your local DWR and ask if they can supply replacement parts.
