Odd that
virtually no other "tray-arm" lounge chairs were ever introduced. Or am I wrong ? Pretty nifty -- practical and exotic at once -- my favorite flavor !

yeah!
beer on one side, chips on the other
or
Wine on one side, cheese on the other
or
high ball on one side, 2nd high ball on the other
I think I'd love it. Stylish beast

Lovely chair, I'm a recent convert to Robin Day.
An elderly neighbour who I had not met before poked her head over the fence whilst I was working on the garden. She asked me if I would take a look at some furniture she had purchased from Hille in the 60s and try to ID it.
She had a lovely collection of Robin Day pieces but my favourite was possibly the nicest sideboard I have ever seen. A small Mahogany carcass cabinet with two sliding black glass doors with round brass pulls.
The black glass contrasted beautifully with the other materials, very simple, very sweet.
Same as the one pictured but with two black doors.

Beautiful chair
The nicest example of a Robin Day 'Reclining Chair' (1952) that I have ever seen. Beautiful patina on the timber trays. I also have a fondness for the 1950's furniture designed by Robin Day and I have been lucky enough to find a few pieces here in Australia.
The reclining chair was re-issued under license a few years ago, but you can't manufacture that beautiful patina of the original. Enjoy.
I posted a pic of my 658 lounge chair which is a variation without back padding and was sold at John Stuart in the U.S.
