30's-40's chrome furniture was quite popular in the 1970's and there was quite a lot of Troy, Howell and Lloyd pieces around.
Then, overnight, "Deco" was replaced by "High-Tech" and then "Mid-Century" and chrome collecting seemed to disappear.

I think they are pretty...
I think they are pretty swell! Chrome furniture is so often related with the "retro" feel it oftentimes is disregarded as kitch. I think, so long as your design doesn't focus strictly on that 50s kitch, it really brings great eye appeal to a room.
And for $225, gimme a break, you can't beat that!
