Pretty good number for a chair with issues ?

You can find single chairs at high end retail places with asking prices close to $10k.  But I know of a pair being sold at retail for $5k, in vastly better condition than this chair.  So, I think that $2500 was a lot to pay for this chair, given the cracks, chips, and probably need for re-caning.  Still, it is a chair that is not easy to find.

For additional reference, a pair of recent (2002) Wegner folding chairs by PP Mobler in very good condition just ended on eBay with a final bid of $3061. The wood looked like ash to me.
