It really is a shame that such an interesting thread has been hijacked by what is essentially an ego driven squabble. Let's hear more about the models. I don't give a shit how many rockers anybody has seen/sold and I suspect the majority of the readers here don't care either. Come on already, enough.
Actually.....
I really didn't want to get involved here, but I can vouch for Tynell. He is a well known and respected dealer up here, and many noteworthy works by Eames, Nelson, Bertoia and Noguchi that Wright has sold over the years have been from him. He has been in the business for a long time and has had the best of the best.
Just sayin'.....

It can make very good sense. It depends on your operation. My wife and I work out of our small 2 bedroom apartment and sell mostly through Ebay. Most of my stock is respectable middle of the road stuff. When I do get something extraordinary, I simply don't have access to the deep pocket clients that a good auction house has. And actually the turn around for the better houses can be quite long with intake early for catalog shoots, curating specific themes, and payment after they get paid by bidders.
I am still interested
in knowing what material those model shells are made of -- though I suppose that can be difficult to determine. Some kind of resin, no doubt ? Are they painted, or is the color integral ?
Perhaps a hot-pin test can be performed.
Are the metal chair bases at the same scale ? Are these intended to go together into a complete chair model ? It should be possible to determine the scale of the model, by comparing to known dimensions of the full-size chair.

Hi Glassartist, thanks for the reply....It certainly makes sense when you are dealing on a smaller scale like you described. I just presumed that the seller in question here was a bricks and mortar dealer and therefore this method doesnt make as much sense to me. In my experience after fees on both sides (buyer and seller) it seems the auction houses are the only ones making real money out of auctions.
