Given that the production of good products usually requires energy we're kind of up dung river but maybe not, very very exciting!

I'm so glad
that I've contributed to the effort by forgoing the ownership of a self-cleaning oven, myself, all these years. I know now that there was a reason . . .
Seriously -- great news, potentially at least. If it were being announced by Ponds and Fleishman, I guess I'd have my doubts !
.
I had never heard of them, I don't know maybe they are a good thing, do they last? Its got to better than spray on caustic soda. I don't care what anyone says, bicarb and vinegar is not getting that crap off.
Of course we all need to consume less anyway. Ivé taken up buying 5 kg bags of flour etc. It costs about 30 cents for a pizza base ($2.50 each in the shops)and about $1.50 per pizza at the most...all for 10 minutes worth of kneeding and they taste amazing, will never buy any baked goods from a shop again. Home brew beer is the next project, sorry not really design related but its great fun and am proud of myself, how could I have got to 35 and not have learned how to bake bread?
My older friend
is so pleased with her new bread-baking regimen. It started with some kind of bowl she bought where you knead the dough, leave it covered in the bowl for eighteen hours, bake it in the same bowl, and it makes a great bread with a great crust. And I didn't realize how simple the recipe is: flour, yeast, and water.
.
An old friend was kind enough to share this recipe with the world in
the NYTimes a few years ago.
A weekend ritual for us.
And friday night pizza...
