I came across an LCW that has a water mark that's about 1" in diameter. Seller says it happened during an oiling treatment. Is that something that can be removed? It's in Ash btw. Thanks for your input.

Hello again! It can absolutely be removed! If it is from oil, you can likely use some odorless mineral spirits and then re-oil the whole chair. If the price is right, buy it! Then post some pictures and we'll make sure you can get it as good as it can be!
Kindly,
Davi

By the time I got back to the seller the chair was sold. It was asking for $475; beautiful wood grain pattern; some wear. Seller (second owner) guessed the chair was 30 years old which we know cannot be the case. I think it's probably made in the 90's based on the oval black tag and double shock mounts on the back. Will try to pose some pix later. Thanks for the feedback, David.

Asking price was $475. Good buy?

No loss for you. It is nice, but there was nothing special about it. Don't sweat it!

Stop it, Spanky! You're making me more depressed! But I thought the grain was nice and the darker lines gave it a good vintage feel. It really goes to show how everyone's taste is so different.
I'm wondering if it's a consensus that most people like the more "heavily grained veneer" on wood furniture? I, for one, always look for that.

Nice chair
Decent price. The grain does look great, but the pattern is a bit too much for me (too repetitive and symmetrical).

???
This was not a standard finish in the nineties, was it? Is this a "refinished" chair, then? Presumably formerly in the Natural (but yellow-ish) ash?

.
I don't recall seeing chairs of 90's vintage in that particular flavor, is all.
I don't have any materials to verify "standard" finishes for this period.

Some good news.
Dear Kin,
Because of the location of the stain...I don't think that it was caused by water.
just a thought.
