I have been doing extensive research to see if the black leather Wassily chair I bought from an antique store is the real deal. The measurements of the chair are the same as researched original chair measurements. The chair itself has hex screws and chrome cap ends which are completely flush with tubing. The only marking on the chair is a stamped engraving in the leather underneath the seat. It reads "Made in Italy 1-03 G"
*Do you think this is an original italian made Wassily?
I'm not sure what to make of this whether it is just a reproduction of the Gavina version or an original transitional design.
I have read about so many variations of markings questionably authentic markings distinguishing the maker/manufacturer. Im beginning to think this is unsolvable!
Help!
Thank you!
