Hmm... I see your point, and thanks for the photos. That's very helpful. Looking at the last photo I posted, it almost seems as if the end on the left has a small bevel while the one on the right does not. I find it odd that they don't match, although before I had seen your chair, I imagined the difference in appearance was probably just due to a degree of variance in the finish. Yours all appear to be flat though.

Good eye, Mark! I spoke to Knoll and sent them a few photos. They obviously cannot make guaranteed IDs for liability reasons, but they believe it most likely is a Knoll chair, but that this bar with the bevel must have broken and then been replaced at some point.
What do I have?
Hello all,
I am trying to post photos of my chairs here,
the only identifying mark is a small sticker that says made in Italy.
How do I post a photo here?
I click on the box below this box that says,
associated web images (optional)
the column is then highlited ib blue and I proceed to put picture in and it does not allow me.

If you want to know if your chair is an vintage original - and original usually meaning a Gavina or Knoll - then it should have more than a "made in italy" sticker. Made in Italy by who? The original chairs clearly state the manufacturer.
I've seen lots of knock-offs with "made in italy" stickers on it. If its Gavina - it should say made by Gavina in Italy - the sticker will appear on the back seat chrome bar. For later Knoll wassilys the "knoll" sticker is on the underside of the leather strapping. These knoll stickers have been known to come off.
More modern authorized versions by Knoll will be clearly marked.
If you really want to know if your chairs are original, then you need post close up the photos of the screws and caps. If you have obvious caps on the ends of the chrome bars - the ones that stick out from the seat base - good chance its a knock-off. The Gavina chairs don't have caps, just finished chrome. Later Knoll chairs do have caps, but they can be ID'ed.
But if all your seeing is a "made in italy" sticker is probably not an original chair. A wassily chair, with the only identifier being a "made in italy" sticker sold on ebay for $102 yesterday on ebay. (See here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=230671325829&ssPageNa...)
