Thanks in advance for any assistance. I love the chair regardless, so authenticating is only gong to make me love it more. Just curious more than anything if I have a "find" or not. I didn't get it from the trash, or an auction. I paid a fair price for a knock off with real leather, and am happy with that. But the seller and I both were unsure, so I am coming to you. It does have a label under the bar that is under the very back of the seat that said Made In Italy at one time, you can see it is partial. Thoughts? The seller has had it in his possession for about 20 years. Thank you thank you! I do have a few more pictures if I need to post more.

Thanks for the replies
I was not sure since I had read somewhere that before Knoll produced them, other manufacturers did not cap/weld/polish.....and then going forward, Knoll also at some point started capping. It lead to a lot of confusion (the article read) because capped ends were always the surefire way of spotting a knock off. So I thought perhaps this chair was earlier, by a manufacturer other than Knoll, or later during the period they did use caps. Either way, I am good with it. Don't like buying into the knock off market of course but for someone that could not afford an original but appreciates the form of it (and how great it sits! comfy!) it is OK I think to be happy with a second hand knock off. The leather is really gorgeous belt strap leather, and the stitching is fine.
Thanks again.
