Hi Addicts,
I recently came across what I believe was an authentic Knoll Platner 36" Coffee table. The person who sold it to me was an older couple who said it's been sitting in their garage for about 10 years and before that they owned it for about 20. It looked old with some patina so I took it home.
The person also mentioned that it was bronze, but upon further inspection, after I took it home, I saw a copper tone on the bottom. So I took some vinegar and salt and started cleaning the bottom and It's, from what I can tell, is copper.
So two question:
Should I continue cleaning it or leave the patina?
Did Knoll ever produced a copper version of the table? If so, what year and how rare is this?
Thanks!

Refrigerator magnet sticks.
Plus, Knoll says it's steel.

Hi there- I came across the same thing, but it looks like there is bronze or copper coming thru, and you have answered my questions regarding the type of metal, which I thought was steel until had seen that copper/bronze finish protruding thru, but the one I found, and purchased, has a powder-coated black finish to it. The base has some corrosion, snd looks as if when copper has a patina to it...given I think when previous owner had washed floors with mop, didn't protect the base. from water.residue, etc. ...and it was a steal of a lifetime, of many steals like this... 10.00 idk if I should leave alone, have sand-blasted and re-powder coated. There was no gas at all, but that is simple. I do believe it is the Real McCoy." Pls confirm
