I kinda like some of these, there are many out there. I wanted to do a tree by my entryway. There is little room for a table or items on the floor because the door needs to swing open. I thought one of these on one side and a slab floating shelf (for a table)on the other would help to ground the space and add some interest.

What do you think? I'm afraid it will look kitchy when I get it up. I was also going to create my own based on other designs.

If you like
the idea of a tree "shadow" on your wall (as I do) you can make it a DIY project: borrow a plant from a neighbor (?) and use bright bulb to cast a shadow on the wall. When you've got the composition you like, outline the shadow with pencil, remove the plant, and start painting. You'll have a totally unique wall decoration. The color can be a darker version of the present wall color, or something less subtle if you like.
