Hi addicts,
After some serious hunting, I finally found a shelving system for my living room, and for a decent price, at that 🙂
There are four 39" wall-mounted wood rails plus six longer (~31.5" by 8") and two shorter (~23.5" by 8") shelves. The shelves are attached to the rails with metal brackets and clips. Originally the system was hung as three panels with the longer shelves on the outsides and the shorter ones in the middle. I think I'll hang them all in one vertical column (will probably not use the shorter shelves for now).
Is this a Cadovius system? How can one tell? It's not mounted on the wall yet, so I only have a picture of it piled up on the floor. Not sure if anything can be gleaned from it. There are "Made in Denmark" stamps on the edges of the shelves, but no other indication. Does it look like teak, or some other wood?
Any info would be appreciated - thanks!

Addition of a cabinet?
Thank you guys!
One more question: is it possible to hang a cabinet component on these rails? The only systems that I've seen involve either diagonal wood pegs that fit into holes in the vertical wall rails, or clips that seem to be meant to hang on a horizontal bar. Obviously neither of those would be compatible with my system.
Would anyone have any experience with this?
Thanks again!
Thank you, atomicmod. I...
Thank you, atomicmod. I will look out for these - although it seems to be excessively difficult to find single CADO components - everybody that I've seen wants to sell entire systems (sometimes they wait to gather components from multiple sources)? sigh.
But it's good to know that it's at least possible 🙂
Wall system by Sven Ellekjaer?
Hello Addicts,
First - thank you for your comments above!
I recently came upon some danish wall shelves and cabinet in what appears to be teak. There are five wall shelves and a cabinet, and they are meant to hang on a wood wall rail with a set of double holes shaped like key holes. I got them for free from a woman who was emptying her mother's recently sold house 🙂
At first I thought they were Cado like the others I have (similar metal rail brackets), but they're actually different. After much searching, I found identical systems online, attributed to Sven Ellekjaer (the Omnibus system). I have never heard of him, and was able to find very limited information online.
I would love to find out more - does anyone know about him and his work?
Thanks for your help!
