Hello, wondering if anyone has any good recommendations for wall-mounted credenzas? So far I like the ones from plaformfaf.com and also like the vintage Nelson ones although they seem pretty hard t come by. I actually think I would like something "new" as opposed to a vintage one. My wife has a fear of our place becoming a "mid-century showroom". I thought De La Espada would be a likely candidate but did not see anything there, but something with similar "lines".

Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance.

You could hang
any cabinet that you found and thought would look good that way, assuming the removal of its legs could be done neatly. All you would need then is a sturdy wood or metal hanging rail attached to the underside of the cabinet top, at the rear; long screws through that rail and into the wall studs would complete the job. (If by some chance the cabinet had a thick back that was well-fastened, the hanging rail could be forgotten. This is the same technique used to hang kitchen wall cabinets, after all. . .)

Could you
Could you also use a french cleat to hang it? We used to use the cleat system in the gallery and it was amazingly easy to do! (which is why I suggest it 🙂

Bar method
My first experience was with IKEA kitchen cabinets. Thought it was just a cheap way to hang cabinets until my carpenter friend installed a kitchen from Poliform and said they used the same method. Pretty cool idea actually.

Florence Knoll designed many great wall hanging credenzas. Different configurations: sliding doors, flip down doors, etc.
I have a cane doored model (same as middle pic) with lather tabs that I use below wall mounted TV. I love it!

The cleat that
consists of two mating shapes, usually a simple bevel, with one part fastened to the wall, facing up, and the other on the back of the cabinet, pointing down ? That works -- though you still want to fasten the cabinet with screws, either to the cleat or the wall, so it can't be accidently lifted off. The other aspect of this method is that the cleats create a space between the cabinet and the wall, so this has to be acceptable. If so, another dummy (spacer) cleat goes at the bottom of the back, to keep the cabinet plumb (vertical).
A lot of work -- but at the least, it allows the installer to immediately place the cabinet securely on the wall, without temporary support, while he (or she) goes about making the permanent connection.
