Hi everybody,
I have a Vladimir Kagan VK100 chair that I had reupholstered a few months ago. This chair has the retractable footrest. Unfortunately the upholsterer misplaced whatever stop mechanism or pieces inside the chair or attached to the footrest to stop it from pulling all the way outof the chair. Does anybody know what part it may be and where I could find a replacement? Is it something as simple as a screw possibly? I have a bad feeling it's something that needs to be installed before upholstery, but I really have no idea. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone!

Anyone? Please, I really want to fix this chair. I'm not a store or a dealer or anything like that. I'm a huge fan of everything mid century. I've been lurking on Design Addict for a while and reading a lot of posts to educate myself, but I rarely post as I never feel like I have anything to contribute beyond the expert advise that is already passed along here. I would really appreciate any help. Thanks again!

Direct contact through the Kagan website or one of their authorized retailers is probably your best (if not only) bet right now. These high-end pieces don't end up on eBay, craigslist, or the alley for parts.
I'm also assuming that for a Kagan piece, you went to an experienced and reputable upholsterer. If they actually lost a piece during the process, they should be responsible for finding a replacement one and installing it correctly, even if you have already paid in full.
I do likes me some Kagan recliner.

Thank you both very much for your replies! I just sent the Kagan site an email so hopefully I hear back from them with good news. The upholsterer did a great job with it although I didn't catch that one little detail for a while after since the chair has been sitting untouched for a few months. If it's a something easy and simple, I'll just take care of it, otherwise, I'm going to make him fix it for me which I don't think will be a problem. Again, thanks for the help!
